Sycorax is an alien entity who came to Earth for unknown reasons. She is currently trapped here, though whether her exile is for political or metaphysical reasons is not known. Cassandra Templar trapped her in a high-tech piece of hardware which King Kubera of Laṅkā was using as his cell phone until Shimmer acquired the phone from him and freed Sycorax from her captivity. Sycorax helped Shimmer discover that someone at Templar Industries was using a backdoor in her hardware to keep tabs on the Firebrands. When she and Shimmer were discovered raiding Templar systems, Sycorax opted to stay behind, seeking revenge against her erstwhile captors.
