Star Sentinel, a.k.a. Astra, may be Halcyon City’s most popular team hero, but she’s more than just a showman (whatever her detractors might say). She got her original powers from a fallen star and learned to use them with the help of her brother, Zane, in the style of comic book and movie superheroes. She is committed to her friends, brother, and girlfriend, and public, equal justice for everyone. Halcyon City is her home, and she’ll be damned if it serves as a battlefield between corporate teams of heroes and villains, destroying the city in the process.
In the finale of the Halcyon Protectorate series, she represented teen heroes in a public testimony in court in an effort to decriminalize public teen heroism. In Multiverse: Earth 2023 Issue #84, she sacrificed her powers of light control so that Lucifer Kozlov and Tiffany Kozlov could move a section of Halcyon City out of the Shadow Realm.
In the Apocalypse Prep timeline, she is Equinox, an ex-hero who attends Apocalypse Prep. She is there on scholarship after publicly denouncing mainstream corporate heroes. She writes blog posts and journal articles read by thousands that call out “heroes” who don’t take responsibility for their actions or the collateral damage.
